For the functionality extension of Microsoft Dynamics™ CRM 4.0 several additional tools are available.
Due to the integration of the CRM system with a TAPI-compatible telephone system phone call descriptions can be managed much easier. The business card scanner is especially suitable for exhibitions and trade fairs in order to transfer contact data without any effort to the system. With the help of the Import Manager data imports become very easy.
Computer Telephony Integration
CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) allows for the integration between telephone systems (TAPI interface) and Microsoft Dynamics™ CRM. The product identifies incoming calls (name/number of the caller will be displayed), automatically generates activities in the CRM system for incoming and outgoing calls, shows customer-specific information in the display and much more.
The CTI integration offers the following functions:
- Connects telephone systems with Microsoft Dynamics™CRM
- Identifies incoming calls and displays caller information
- Opens contact or company data set while picking up the phone
- Generates activities in the CRM system for incoming and outgoing calls
- Simplifies the process of outgoing calls
Important: For the use of the CTI a telephone system with a TAPI interface is needed.
Business Card Scanner
With the help of this tool customer data can be transferred to the CRM system in an uncomplicated way and without manual entries. Business cards were just inserted in the reader and the scanner automatically identifies the data and immediately generates the respective company and contact entry.
The business card scanner is best qualified for the use on trade fairs or exhibitions because the valuable time you would need for the manual entry of Leads and Companies can be used for intensive customer consultation. Thus, meeting notes can be immediately allocated to the company data set.
Import Manager
The Import Manager is a powerful data import tool especially for Microsoft Dynamics™ CRM 4.0. The tool allows an extensive data management with an unprecedented control function during the import, update and deletion of data.
The Import Manager not only enables the import of superior data to Microsoft Dynamics™CRM 4.0, it also helps with the comparison of complex data without having SQL knowledge. The tool allows the allocation of fields via drag and drop as well as the possibility to convert the data during the transfer with the help of the new dynamic field functionality. Furthermore, the Import Manager enables the deletion of undesired data as part of the data transfer process.
Due to the new Client-Server-Architecture just one installation of the Import Manager is necessary to build up a connection between different CRM servers. It is possible to log in from a PC to the Import Manager Server and to control the import process according to the respective user rights.
Another feature is the new planning function which executes (recurring) tasks automatically. This function is suitable for major data imports as well as for the protection of system resources during the office hours. Moreover, the functionality enables to permanently update the CRM database with the newest information from external sources.
The Import Manager is integrated with Excel, Access, SQL, ERP Systems, text files, other CRM Systems and all ODBC-based systems. It has an intuitive - designed according to Office 2007 - program surface.
